2027: Ganduje Issues Red Card to Fubara

Ganduje made this statement at a reception for Dawari Ibietela George, the former Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate who recently joined the APC.

Discussing the party’s strategy for Rivers, Ganduje asserted, “Rivers State will be completely APC,” emphasizing his determination to transform the state’s chapter of the party into a powerful political entity.

He described George as a “big fish” in the political arena, highlighting his experience and influence as vital assets for bolstering the party’s standing in the region.

In welcoming George, Ganduje assured him of equal status within the party, stating, “You are now an equal member alongside every other party member. We are committed to expanding democracy in the country.”

He promised to “rebuild and reposition” the APC in Rivers, envisioning a strong foundation that would accommodate George and other potential returnees.

This announcement comes amid a political upheaval involving Fubara and Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. While Wike has denied allegations of collaborating with Tony Okocha, a former APC state chairman, Okocha recently vowed to “de-market” Fubara ahead of the upcoming election.

As these alliances shift, Ganduje’s remarks signal the beginning of a high-stakes contest for political dominance in Rivers, setting the stage for intensified competition as 2027 approaches.
