Watkins has been in fantastic form for Villa this season, producing 19 goals and 12 assists across 34 Premier League matches and is now rated as one of the best finishers in the Premier League and a man that could lead that Arsenal attack.

Arsenal have been backed to sign the Aston Villa star in the summer – and amid all that speculation – Watkins has revealed details of a secret chat with Declan Rice, he told

TNT Sports:‘I spoke to Dec (Declan Rice) at England.

‘[He was] confident that we’re going to win it. We’re confident ourselves but you never know what’s going to happen.

‘You never know with these teams. Lille put us under a lot of pressure and it’s going to be difficult but I think we have got the squad to do it.’

Watkins also spoke of his love for one of Arsenal’s biggest heroes as the 28-year-old Englishman added: ‘My idol was Thierry Henry.

‘I always felt when he cut inside from the left and bending it in, that was always… I scored one against Luton! But Henry did it frequently.

‘I’m not on that level yet. But he’s someone I wanted to be like. I have my own style of how I play, but growing up he was the main man.

‘I personally think he is the best player to play in the Premier League. He could do it all and he was untouchable, really.’

GYOKERES WANTS MOVE –

After Arsenal smashed Bournemouth to go four points clear at the top of the Premier League, some exciting Transfer news has emerged.

Bukayo Saka put ARSENAL ahead from the penalty spot in a one-sided first half before Leandro Trossard swept home their second following a spell of Bournemouth pressure after the break.

The visitors had a goal controversially ruled out after that, with VAR upholding referee David Coote’s decision to penalise Dominic Solanke for a foul on David Raya, before Declan Rice added a stoppage-time third to put the result beyond doubt

The result means that Man City are now four points behind the Gunners, although they do have two games in hand, but will need to keep up the winning in order to regain their Premier League title.

But while that is going on, and According to a report from Correio de Manha, former Coventry City striker Gyokeres is desperate to join a major European club this summer.

He is allegedly pushing to join Arsenal from Sporting, and is desperate to impress Gunners scouts during the final few games of the season

ARSENAL FC have been brilliant this season – but they have showed at times that they need a striker like Gyokeres that can score goals when he is really needed.

A striker is definitely needed in the summer – it should be top priority and if the reports are true and Gyokeres is keen to make the move to the Emirates – he could be a top class buy.

He is banging in the goals on a weekly basis and is ready to make that next step in his career – and right now – there are not too many sides in Europe than Arsenal to watch.

They really are an impressive side.

ZIRKZEE GREAT CHAMPION

Inter vice-president, Javier Zanetti, has indicated that the Serie A champions will rival Arsenal for Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee this summer.

ARSENAL are sitting top of the Premier League and are closing in on their first title since 2024, if they are able to win all their remaining games and Man City drop some vital points between now and the end of the season.

However – there has already been alot of speculation in the media about who Mikel Arteta will be able to get in the transfer window as the board are willing to give him £200 million to help improve the squad.

A striker is somehing that will be top of the list for Mikel Arteta, as despite all the quality that the club have – they do not have a man that is able to score 20-30 goals a season.

And that has led to speculation in the media that Arsenal and Inter Milan are both interested in signing the impressing Zirkzee in the summer, as the striker has 11 goals this season and is on the verge of helping Bologna get Champions League football.

When asked about a potential move for Zirkzee, Zanetti told Radio TV Serie A:‘Zirkzee is a great champion.

‘We are talking about a young, talented, intelligent, physically very strong player.

‘Someone like that would be useful to any great team aiming for important goals.

‘Let’s see… if the opportunity arises we can think about it.

‘With Zirkzee, Lautaro [Martinez] and [Marcus] Thuram we would have a young and strong attack. They would give us peace of mind.’

The way that ARSENAL play- the future that the club has and the fact they will be winning more trophies over the next few seasons – if they manage to get a striker that can bang in the goals – they will be even better next season.

We are just not sure that Zirkzee is the answer for the club.
