Through years of therapy, I have now realised that I have the red flags that I have been blind to, too focused on the red flags of others. I never realised how my red flags impacted my life’s choices and how they were part of why I struggled in relationships as a young adult.

Although many of these red flags are characteristics of autism, they are often interpreted as ‘red flags’ by neurotypicals and can cause others to misunderstand us. Here are a few of them:
