The boy was said to have been killed on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Oluchukwu Oil and Gas Ltd, New Tarzan Junction, Nkpor Agu in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State where he was working as an attendant
According to the father his son who was exactly 18 years, nine months was killed when he was hit by multiple bullets from the Pump Action riffle of a reckless AVG operative at his chest, neck and hands at the Oluchukwu Oil and Gas Ltd, New Tarzan Junction, Nkpor.
Ajibo said he was told that the AVG operative’s riffle exploded as he lost control of it when it fell down hitting his son at several places.
The Ajibos hails from Ndiagu, Oda Village, Alor-Uno in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
His father, Ajibo Dominic ,was former DG, Onitsha Chamber of Commerce , Industry, Mine and Agriculture and currently Catechist of Madonna Catholic Church, Nkpor.
The boy’s body has since been deposited at the Immaculate Heart Specialist Hospital , Nkpor Agu.
The matter was said to have been reported to Nkpor Divisional Police Office which has transfered it to the homicide section of the State Police Command Headquarters, Awka.
Ajibo lamented that since the murder of his son on October 9, 2024, the Police has not affected any arrest, neither has the leadership of AVG contacted the family, saying that they were all carrying on as if nothing happened.
He cried “my family has been left heart-breaking, anguish and sorrow over this avoidable tragedy. We are asking for justice to be done on this matter in order to assuage his blood, which was spilled for no just cause whatsoever”.
He appealed that men and women of goodwill should come to their aid to bring the information about this tragedy to the attention of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
“For we believe that it is only through that channel that we can obtain justice for my son”, he said.
