The tourist, who had been drinking with friends under a coconut tree at a popular British tourist hotspot, reportedly asked a group of young Thai women to pose for a photo with them. The women agreed, and the men took turns posing for over five photos, according to Thaiger.
However, when an Indian tourist posed for his photo, he allegedly touched one of the women inappropriately and tried to kiss her, prompting the woman’s enraged husband to punch him in the face, knocking him out.
Despite his friends calling emergency services after noticing a large gash above his eye, the injured man refused to go to the hospital and demanded that the police be contacted instead, according to Thai Examiner.
While the group of tourists claimed the man was the victim of an unprovoked attack, one of the women, identified as “A,” provided a video that contradicted their account. The man was eventually taken to Pattaya City Hospital by a police officer, though it’s unclear if the police are pursuing further investigation into the incident.
