PDP, others accuse Kaduna assembly over election
Daily Trust reported that the PDP and other opposition parties claimed the Kaduna State House of Assembly tried to alter electoral laws to rig the election, but APC leaders denied this. Despite the assurance from the electoral commission, the PDP has remained wary, seeking fairness and transparency.
In Kogi, vehicular movement has been restricted from 7 am to 4 pm for election security. Residents were urged to vote, with adequate security at polling stations.
Plateau State is holding rerun elections for councillor positions in nine wards across six areas due to past irregularities, from 8 am to 3 pm.
Winners emerge in Rivers LG election
Legit earlier reported that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) declared the APP the winner of 22 of the 23 local government chairmen elections in the state.
Justice Adolphus Enebeli, the RSIEC chairman, made the announcement on Saturday evening, October 5. The RSIEC chairman noted that the results of the Etche LGA and the 319 councillorship seats will be declared on a yet-to-be-announced date.
