After that the final matchday will be Arsenal-Everton and City-West Ham. Arsenal would benefit from a draw between City at Tottenham, as they currently have a +3 in the overall goal difference over Pep’s team. In the event both teams finish level on points, the goal difference would decide things.

Manchester United faced the match with 10 important absentees: Malacia, Maguire, Lindelof, Varane, Shaw, Lisandro, Bruno Fernandes, Martial, Rashford and Mount. But at least they had one historical fact in their favor: Arsenal had only won in one of their last 16 visits to Olf Trafford.

The game started with the home team dominating, although it was extinguished quite quickly, especially after the goal by Trossard, the most influential substitute in the team this year.
Trossard the difference-maker

He is having a great second half of the season, despite the fact that the one at Old Trafford was his first start in the Premier League.

From then on, Arsenal took control, although Garnacho, on the other side, tried his best to respond, but without much success. But at least the Argentine was one of the few players giving Arsenal a hard time.

In the second half, United kept fighting, which is impressive given the players on the field, with central defenders like Casemiro (out of posiiton) and the veteran Jonny Evans.Garnacho kept putting on the pressure, but Arsenal, with an imperial Saliba, kept the result.

It wasn’t the best performance from Arsenal, even if they did not suffer too much. They were not fresh in attack and conceded too many transitions in defense, although they did not really have many clear chances against.

United, for its part, now sit in eighth position, with less options when it comes to Europe (they have two games left), unless they win the FA Cup against City at Wembley.
