Both parties are prepared to pay the estimated £110 million release clause. But they would prefer a deal to be completed over a number of years rather than in one large payment. To ease the transition, players and additional add-ons may be included.
Romelu Lukaku has been linked to the deal as a makeweight. According to TBR Football, the Belgian is open to the idea of taking Osimhen’s place, even though no discussions have taken place.
Like the clubs, De Laurentiis is awaiting word on Osimhen’s decision regarding his future. So he is not at the moment in talks with either party.
Osimhen has long been the top choice for Chelsea and PSG to fill the void of their striker position this summer. Despite Nicolas Jackson’s outstanding debut campaign, Chelsea are looking to find a first-choice number 9.
Osimhen is the big name PSG are hoping to sign to replace Kylian Mbappe, who is heading to Real Madrid.
Though Chelsea are also considering Lautaro Martinez, Ivan Toney, Benjamin Sesko, Lois Openda, and Viktor Gyokeres. But Osimhen is still preferred over the other candidates.
The ‘incredibly quick’ striker may prefer a move to the West Londoners because he “loves” Chelsea and is a big fan of Didier Drogba.
