The crash involved a Mazda commercial bus and a Toyota Yaris, reportedly caused by reckless speeding.
The driver of the bus lost control and forcefully collided with the moving Toyota Yaris, resulting in multiple casualties and prompting an immediate emergency response.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Adebayo Taofiq, said the swift intervention of LASTMA officers, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), ensured the rescue of the victims.
He added that the injured passengers were transported to Gbagada General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Reacting to the accident, LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki emphasised the importance of adhering to speed limits to prevent unnecessary road fatalities.
He also extended his sympathies to the injured, wishing them a quick recovery.
