Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, announced that the disbursement followed the third independent verification intervention assessment.
The NG-CARES Programme, supported by the World Bank, aims to provide credit and grants to support low-income and vulnerable households and businesses. States and the FCT invest their resources according to established guidelines and receive reimbursement from the Federal Government following an independent verification.
The top five states that received the largest amounts are Zamfara – N49.182 billion; Nasarawa – N27.204 billion; Plateau – N26.312 billion; Gombe – N25.305 billion; Kebbi – N21.589 billion.
Other states received the following amounts: Cross River – N20.670 billion; Rivers – N19.518 billion; Niger – N17.769 billion; Adamawa – N17.536 billion; Katsina – N15.455 billion; Imo – N15.408 billion; Sokoto – N14.178 billion; Ondo – N13.925 billion; Delta – N13.268 billion; Abia – N12.176 billion; Bayelsa – N10.831 billion; Yobe – N10.172 billion; Kwara – N9.915 billion; Osun – N9.563 billion; Bauchi – N7.305 billion; Kogi – N6.904 billion; FCT – N6.773 billion; Ebonyi – N6.256 billion; Enugu – N6.192 billion; Kano – N6.154 billion; Oyo – N5.967 billion; Borno – N5.898 billion; Jigawa – N5.770 billion; Lagos – N5.569 billion; Taraba – N5.509 billion; Ekiti – N5.507 billion; Edo – N5.122 billion; Benue – N4.908 billion; Akwa Ibom – N2.431 billion; Ogun – N2.125 billion.
Bagudu praised President Bola Tinubu for his administration’s reforms, which have facilitated significant investments by states and the FCT in the NG-CARES Programme.
He also recognized the dedication of state governors and the Honourable Minister of the FCT for their contributions to strengthening resilience among poor and vulnerable Nigerians through the programme.
NG-CARES is a key Social Protection Programme that embodies the principles of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and serves as a fundamental element for economic resilience and sustainability in underserved communities across Nigeria.
