The operation, which marks a significant victory in the fight against banditry, resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, a PKT machine gun, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Sani Black, who commanded a large group of over 150 armed men, was notorious for orchestrating violent attacks across Northern Zamfara and neighboring states like Kaduna, Niger, and Kebbi.

Rivaling other notorious figures like Bello Turji, Sani Black led brutal assaults, abductions, and sexual violence, leaving a trail of terror in his wake.

His death has sparked celebrations among Zamfara residents, who view it as a pivotal moment toward restoring peace in the region.

The Zamfara Police Commissioner, CP Ayuba Elkanah, had previously highlighted the severity of the banditry problem in the area, with Sani Black’s accomplices engaging in heinous crimes, including the kidnapping and abuse of women and children.

The elimination of Kachalla Sani Black signals a potential turning point in the security situation in Zamfara, raising hopes for a more peaceful future for the state’s beleaguered communities.

Platinumpost reported that, in a major breakthrough against banditry, Kachalla Tukur Sharme, a notorious bandit commander, has been killed alongside other bandits during a violent clash between rival groups.

Samuel Aruwan, the Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State, made the announcement during a press briefing.
