In a statement signed by Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, the APC described Senator Ndume’s outburst as “haughty and unnecessary.”

The party pointed out that as a senator, Ndume has access to the National Assembly and the federal government machinery to raise and address matters of national interest.

The APC clarified that President Tinubu is fully engaged in his duties, having recently inaugurated the Presidential Economic Coordination Council (PECC) and launched the Economic Stabilization Programme to address food security, power supply, social welfare, healthcare, and economic transformation.

The President, the party said, has also met with organized labour leaders on the new minimum wage and regularly interacts with citizens and officials.

The party urged Senator Ndume to exercise restraint and refrain from attention-seeking media posturing, emphasizing that the country needs all hands on deck to achieve national transformation.

The statement reads in part: “President Tinubu is busy doing the job for which he was elected by the Nigerian people. He is the head of government with many critical parts equipped to process and deal with various challenges. The president’s time is required to be used judiciously in attending to important matters of state.”

The APC highlighted President Tinubu’s recent activities, including the inauguration of the PECC, launch of the Economic Stabilization Programme, meeting with labour leaders, and signing of an Executive Order to reduce drug costs. The party stressed that these engagements demonstrate the President’s command of the situation in the country.

“Our dear country needs all hands on deck on the cusp of national transformation, each doing their part to remake the social, economic, and security conditions in the best interest of our people,” the statement concluded.
