A three-member panel of the appellate court set aside the July 4, 2024, judgement delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo, stating that the trial court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case brought by the aggrieved delegates, who did not possess the necessary legal rights to initiate the suit.
In a unanimous decision, the Court of Appeal ruled that it would not interfere in the PDP’s process of selecting its candidate for the governorship election, affirming the party’s autonomy in such matters.
