According to Apple, the iPhone 16E is powered by the company’s latest A18 chip, providing a fast and powerful experience.
“A18 will help iPhone 16E feel fast for years to come, and you’ll discover a huge boost in speed when upgrading from an older phone. This level of performance and power efficiency is only possible thanks to Apple Silicon.
“iPhone 16e packs in the features our users love about the iPhone 16 lineup, including breakthrough battery life, fast performance powered by the latest-generation A18 chip, an innovative 2-in-1 camera system, and Apple Intelligence.
“We’re so excited for iPhone 16e to complete the lineup as a powerful, more affordable option to bring the iPhone experience to even more people,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing.
The iPhone 16E also features an advanced 2-in-1 camera system, combining a 48-megapixel sensor with an integrated 2x telephoto lens.
“With our latest generation Apple Silicon, breakthrough battery life, an incredibly high-resolution two-in-one camera system, and the powerful features of iOS 18, all in a durable and beautiful design. The iPhone 16E joins the iPhone 16 family as its most affordable member, and it has Apple Intelligence, our powerful personal intelligence system with features that help you save time, quickly get more things done, and express yourself in new ways,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said.
The iPhone 16E is available for pre-order starting this Friday, with availability on February 28.

The device is resistant to splash, water and dust, with a rating of IP68; a Ceramic Shield front cover with an advanced formulation that is tougher than any smartphone glass; and the toughest back glass in a smartphone. The iPhone 16e has the best battery life ever on a 6.1-inch iPhone, lasting up to six hours longer than the iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than all generations of iPhone SE have, with up to 26 hours of video playback.

This includes tools like photo editing with Clean Up, email assistance with Smart Reply, and creative tools like Image Playground, all while maintaining privacy with Apple’s industry-leading standards.
“For the times when you don’t want to cook, just speak or type to Siri and plan a dining out adventure with Siri’s ability to use the expertise of ChatGPT. You’re always in control of when ChatGPT is used and what information is shared. With Apple Intelligence, your iPhone is more personal, so it’s crucial your information stays private,” Kaiann said.
iOS 18
Users will enjoy the latest iOS with features for seamless device integration, personalised user interfaces, and a vast app ecosystem. iOS 18 makes the iPhone 16e more personal, capable, and intelligent than ever. With more customisation options, users can give apps and widgets a new dark or tinted look and arrange them in any open space on the home screen. The controls at the bottom of the Lock Screen can be customised; the Control Centre has been redesigned to provide users with easier access to many of the things they use every day, including third-party apps; and new privacy protections include the ability to lock and hide apps to protect sensitive apps and the information inside them.
Action Button
The iPhone 16e has the Action button, which can provide quick access to your favourite apps and features. With just a press, you can launch an app you frequently use, turn on the flashlight, or instantly open the camera. On the iPhone 16e, the Action button also lets you access visual intelligence, making the camera even more helpful.
