Hitting 22 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League, Palmer played a vital role as a late season surge ensured the Blues finished in sixth place and qualified for Europe.

The forward also scored twice in the EFL Cup and once in the FA Cup giving him 25 goals in all competitions. After an incredible year the England international already has a growing collection of individual awards having won the Premier League’s Hublot Young Player of the Season gong.

The forward also claimed the Chelsea Men’s Players’ Player of the Season and Player of the Season at our annual club awards.

Palmer fought off fierce competition to claim the PFA Fans’ gong, with Manchester City trio Phil Foden, Rodri and Erling Haaland, Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, William Saliba and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins all nominated.

The award continues a fine week for Chelsea’s number 20 who was called up to the England Euro squad.

While Lauren James enjoyed another outstanding season in Blue as Chelsea collected a fifth Barclays WSL title on the bounce.

The England international produced 13 goals and two assists from just 16 games – scoring at a ratio of 1.04 per 90 minutes.

James was one of three players from Chelsea’s title-winning squad to make the eight-players.

The forward also held off competition from Manchester City’s Lauren Hemp, Khiara Keating and Khadija Shaw, Arsenal’s Lotte Wubben-Moy and Brighton’s Elisabeth Terland.

After becoming one of the standout players in the WSL last year, 2023/24 proved to be another successful one for James.

Highlights included her first WSL hat-trick in a 5-1 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, a feat she repeated in a 3-1 win against Manchester United on her next outing at the venue.

James also won the Women’s Player of the Year honour at our annual club awards earlier this month – another title voted for by the fans.

James and Palmer keep up there hopes for Players’s player of the year.
