After serving multiple terms as a state and federal legislator in Lagos, Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, switched from being a Senator in Lagos West to winning the election to become the Senator representing Ogun West in 2023.
The move by the politician, who has become a prominent name in the race to determine the next Governor of Ogun State (in 2027), was unprecedented.
Fresh reports claim that another top-level politician from Lagos is plotting a similar move in a different political zone in Ogun State.
The politician is said to be quietly establishing “legitimacy” in an area that falls under the center of the different zones in Ogun State.
Those spreading these claims insist that “something to establish” the claim of being a “son of the soil” has been perfected.
It is, however, unclear whether, like Senator Yayi, the “upcoming entrant” is also eyeing the Senate.
The claims assert that the individual shares a “similar background” with the Senator.
