BREAKING: Court Restricts Protests in Lagos, Says Just 2 Locations Allowed, Details Emerge

A Lagos high court has restricted Nigerians planning to take part in the August 1 nationwide protest to the Peace Park in Ketu area of Lagos state and the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Ogundare pronounced the restraint on Tuesday, July 30, following a preemptive exparte application filed by the state attorney-general and commissioner for justice, Lawal Pedro (SAN).

According to Channels Television, the application sought to maintain and secure public safety and prevent irreparable loss of lives and property in the state during the period of the protests (August 1 to August 10).

‘Don’t protest in Lagos’, Omokri speaks out

Earlier, Legit reported that Reno Omokri, a former special assistant on social media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, asked ‘end bad governance’ agitators not to protest in Lagos because it is one of the states with the lowest poverty rates in Nigeria.

Omokri said poverty exists in states like Enugu and Ebonyi state, thus ‘End bad governance’ agitators should take their planned August protest there.
