Sowore, one of the mobilizers for the #EndBadGovernance protests in August, stated that the upcoming demonstration is not exclusive to him or Take It Back Movement.
Recall that the human rights advocate was briefly detained at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday immediately upon his arrival in Nigeria.
He was later released and allowed to go with his seized passport.
The activist spoke to newsmen immediately after regaining his freedom and encouraged Nigerians to organise and revolt against bad governance at any time.
He said: “When we were planning #EndBadGovernance in August, many of you in the media did not know it would happen. It happened and it happened in a way that surprised everybody. This is what I see happening in October.
“Let me use the opportunity to tell you that if you are feeling the burden of bad governance, you don’t have to wait till October. If you are organised enough, strong enough, it is not anybody’s father’s property.
“It is not a copyright. It is not for Sowore or Take it Back Movement. Anybody that is suffering can revolt at any time, you don’t have to wait for us. We organise in our own organisation collectively.”
Sowore earlier described the recent 10-day nationwide protests in August against hunger and bad governance as a huge success.
Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), noted that President Bola Tinubu’s regime is now toeing the path of arresting and trying poor and innocent citizens over allegations of plotting regime change.
