By 10 a.m., armed security personnel had taken control of the Assembly complex in Alausa, Ikeja, thoroughly searching individuals passing through the area.
Despite the security presence, Speaker Meranda arrived at the premises with her convoy at approximately 11:15 a.m.
This development follows the legal challenge by former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, who was recently removed from office.
Obasa, who was ousted by his colleagues on January 13, 2025 over allegations of misconduct, while he was in the United States, has taken legal action against the Assembly over his removal.
