The warning was issued on Wednesday by the management of the teaching hospital in a public notice signed by its Chief Medical Director, Prof. Bethrand Ngwu.
Categorising the unclaimed corpses as having overstayed, the hospital stated, “This announcement serves as a notice to anybody whose relations or friends corpse has stayed in the hospital for a period of six months and above to proceed and claim it.”
The CMD warned that “Failure to do so within three weeks after this announcement, all bodies not claimed shall be disposed of permanently, and the hospital will not be held accountable.”
