Finidi has been told he will step aside for a new coach, who is expected to be a foreigner as the country bid to get their world cup qualifiers campaign back on track after a stuttering start to the qualifiers.
Newly appointed Finidi failed to pick up a win in the recently concluded games with a draw against South Africa in Uyo and a 1-2 defeat to Benin Republic. The results leaves them 5th on the six team group, four points behind leaders Rwanda.
As expected, the coach wasn’t all smiles when he walked out of the office and shunned approach from the media to speak on the outcome of the meeting. He has been told to either accept working under a new coach or get the boot less than two months into his one year deal as coach.
The NFF can use the performance clause in his deal to terminate his contract in the event that he refuse to accept the terms agreed between the NFF and the minister.
