FIPAN represents a wide array of stakeholders in Nigeria’s animal feed industry, including feed millers, raw material producers, equipment suppliers, and importers of additives.
The industry, which generates between $2 to $3 billion annually, plays a vital role in supporting the country’s agricultural economy. Dr. Oduntan’s election comes at a time when the sector is grappling with several key challenges, including raw material sourcing, supply chain inefficiencies, and regulatory alignment.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Oduntan expressed deep gratitude to the association for the confidence placed in him and pledged to focus on addressing these pressing challenges.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation, stating, “The future of our industry depends on our ability to work together, innovate, and create a more resilient and efficient feed production ecosystem.”
As part of his vision, Dr. Oduntan plans to strengthen partnerships with critical agricultural groups such as the Maize Association of Nigeria (MAAN) and the Nigeria Soybean Association, aiming to improve access to essential raw materials and streamline supply chains.
These alliances are expected to have a significant impact on the efficiency and sustainability of Nigeria’s feed industry.
Dr. Oduntan, who previously served as the National President of the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), is widely recognized for his contributions to improving the agricultural landscape. His extensive background in the sector equips him to tackle the challenges currently facing FIPAN and lead the association into a new era of growth and development.
FIPAN’s outgoing president, Mr. Raymond Isiadinso, was praised for his leadership and the strides made in advocacy and member engagement during his tenure. Dr. Oduntan aims to build on these achievements by addressing critical issues such as regulatory alignment, professional capacity building, and enhancing production quality within the industry.
