Former Chelsea fullback Scott Minto has now advised ambitious young managers to avoid the Stamford Bridge job early in their careers.

Scott Minto particularly sounded this warning to Kieran McKenna who has been linked with the vacant job at Stamford Bridge.

Minto told TalkSPORT: “The one thing they wanted was stability and yet they go and do something like this.

“Clearly it is about recruitment, about players in and perhaps players out as well.

“There is a big issue.

“I respect Poch for saying ‘I’m not having it’ and I worry for the direction the owners are taking Chelsea in at the moment.

“Any young managers who have done really well at the moment, I would say give Chelsea Football Club a miss, massive time.

“That is the last thing you need, to jump in from a club – Kieran McKenna being one of them – that is completely stable to a club that is completely unstable.

“You need a really good coach, someone who can manage up, someone who can bring the kids through, someone who will toe the line.

“For this year that has been Mauricio Pochettino and they are getting rid of him.”
