Addressing journalists, Wike reaffirmed the values of the G-5 Governors, stating that they stand for fairness, equity, and justice. He noted that the governor’s loss was deeply personal for the group, given his close relationship with his late brother.

“At times like this, you recognize true friends. We believe his brother will rest in the bosom of the Lord, and we pray for strength for Governor Makinde and his family,” Wike said.

On national issues, Wike expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, urging Nigerians to be patient as current policies take effect. “The country was in a difficult situation a few years ago. The president means well, and with time, his policies will yield positive results,” he added.
