The former governor’s appearance follows the recent Supreme Court judgment that dismissed states’ challenges to the constitutionality of the anti-graft agency. Bello, who drove himself to the EFCC office in a black Toyota Hilux, was seen entering the premises alongside his lawyers.
This is not the first time Bello has been summoned by the EFCC. At the previous hearing on November 14, the commission had requested an adjournment until November 27 in the fresh case it had instituted against the former governor.
The EFCC cited the ongoing 30-day window for the earlier issued summons as the reason for the adjournment.
