The Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode in a statement on Friday stated that the new policy stipulates that civil servants in grades 01-07 can work from home for three days each week.

Oyebode stress that the initiative which will take effect from Monday, September 9, 2024, is designed to alleviate the impact of the ongoing economic challenges employees face.

Meanwhile, those in grades 08-12 will work remotely two days a week, and employees in grades 13-17 can work from home once a week. However, essential personnel, including teachers, critical healthcare workers, and security staff are excluded from the initiative.

The governor also instructed each Ministry, Department, and Agency (MDA) to develop a feasible schedule for its staff to ensure that this work-from-home policy does not compromise the quality of service delivery.

The arrangement, according to Oyebode will remain in effect for two months and will be reviewed periodically based on the current situation.

Furthermore, this policy does not interfere with other support measures established by the state government, such as the monthly wage awards for employees and pensioners, as well as the provision of accessible transportation for workers and students.

The Ekiti State government said it is dedicated to the welfare of its workforce and will persist in executing necessary strategies to boost their productivity.
