The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force, Operation Fansan Yamma, Maj.-Gen. Oluyinka Soyele gave the advice during a courtesy visit by the Zamfara State Manager of Defence Health Management Limited, Colonel Abdullahi Gambo (retd.), in Gusau.
Soyele stressed the importance of soldiers securing their families’ healthcare before deployment, noting that concerns over medical issues could affect operational focus.
He emphasised that awareness of available health insurance options enhances troop morale and allows them to concentrate fully on their duties.
He said that Gambo’s visit was part of a sensitisation campaign across military formations in Zamfara to educate personnel on their entitlements under the military health insurance scheme.
“The initiative aims to ensure that service members and their dependents receive the necessary medical support. He reaffirmed DHML’s commitment to the well-being of military families,” the theatre said.
Gambo also commended the efforts of Operation Fansan Yamma in combating terrorist activities in the North-West and parts of Niger State, assuring continued collaboration between DHML and military authorities to provide accessible and efficient healthcare for troops and their families.
