Governor Alia revealed that each of the 44 beneficiaries would receive an automatic scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in their respective fields at BSU. He encouraged the graduates to go out into the world, make their mark, and conquer the challenges ahead.
He also pledged to donate 500 computers to the university to enhance its computer hall facilities. “Our administration’s earnest desire is to bring education closer to the people,” Alia said. He further revealed plans to establish a new campus in Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area, and another in the Benue South Senatorial District to expand educational access.
The Vice-Chancellor of BSU, Prof. Tor Iorapuu, shared that the university was constructing a 144-bed hostel for students. He also noted that the Faculty of Technology and Industrial Studies would be relocated to Adikpo as part of the university’s expansion efforts.
The Chancellor of BSU, Dr. Najib Adamu, who is also the Emir of Kazaure, urged the graduates to contribute meaningfully to society. He encouraged them to carry the university’s name with pride and make a positive impact in all areas of life.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Paul Chukwuma, spoke about the institution’s growing academic offerings, including new programs in Architecture and Pharmacy. He emphasized the importance of staff and student welfare, assuring that their wellbeing would remain a priority. Chukwuma also urged BSU alumni to unite and partner with the institution to foster its continued growth.
