A source disclosed that Kusibe used a heavy stick to hit his grandfather on his head repeatedly which led to bleeding before he was rushed to a hospital where he was treated.
However, the old man eventually gave up the ghost as a result of complications from the wound.
Another source described Kusibe as a dreadful criminal in the community who always moves around to cause problems.
“After the incident, he was arrested by police and was taken to Esa-Oke station. His grandfather was buried on Thursday. As I am speaking to you, Oba Adejoro Otebolaku has urged police to do justice to the matter, because the suspect had been posing serious threat to the community,” said the source.
When contacted, the spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident to THE WHISTLER on Saturday.
She said, “Kusibe allegedly hit the grandfather aged 78 on the head after an argument bordering on ownership of farmland. He was arrested and taken to court. The court has remanded him in a custodial centre. The incident happened on Monday but his grandfather died on Wednesday.”
