“We are shocked that these individuals would go to the extent of blackmailing Governor Simi Fubara in an attempt to please their paymasters while ignoring the real issues on the ground,” it said.
“We want to make it clear that we are not part of their scheme and do not support their actions.”
The CRC emphasised that it is a non-partisan body that promotes good governance and accountability and is not loyal to Wike or any other politician in the country.
“We are committed to promoting the truth and the rule of law in Rivers State, and we will not be swayed by personal interests or political affiliations,” it added.
The CRC said that its findings indicate that the judiciary is under massive attack from former Rivers State Assembly members who are desperate to secure a favourable judgment.
The group, however, urged the judiciary not to be compromised by these desperate politicians.
“We also advise these politicians to desist from their actions and seek the path of justice and truth,” the statement noted.
“The CRC warns the impostors to stop using its name to spread falsehood and propaganda. We will not hesitate to take legal action against them if they continue. “We will not allow these individuals to tarnish our reputation and undermine our work. We will continue to stand for the truth and fight for the rule of law in Rivers State.
