A devastating attack occurred on Saturday night in Umucheke Okwe autonomous community, Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State, leaving seven persons dead. The victims included the President General of the community and six village leaders.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen opened fire on the community leaders while they were in a weekly meeting at the President General’s shop in the community market.
The assailants then set the building ablaze, killing all the community chiefs present.
The motive behind the attack remains unknown, leaving the community in shock and fear.
“Nobody understands the reason for the assault. No one knows the purpose of the meeting,” a community member said.
The community has been deserted, with villagers fleeing their homes in fear. The state police command has yet to comment on the incident.
