In a recent interview with Arise TV, Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, expressed displeasure with the policies of the president and the performance of his ministers. He attributed Dr. Edu’s actions to the “Emilokan effect,” a term he used to describe a philosophy of entitlement. He explained that the ministers were chosen based on the Emilokan philosophy, suggesting that they view their positions as opportunities for personal gain.

According to him, “It’s the Emilokan effect. It is my turn, not for me to share with anybody; it is my turn. They (the ministers) are 48; they were chosen because of the Emilokan philosophy, so it’s my turn. So, if I find myself as a minister of humanitarian affairs like Betta Edu did, I’ll do what Betta Edu did. It’s my turn.
