BREAKING: INEC Announces Date for Anambra State Governorship Election

The INEC boss stated that Party primaries for the Anambra State governorship election will be conducted from March 20 to April 10, 2025, while the final list of candidates will be published on June 9, 2025.

Chairman of the Nigerian electoral body disclosed this in his remark during a special stakeholders meeting to deliberate on the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election.

Prof. Yakubu said preparation is nearing completion, as 10 out of the 13 key activities listed in the timetable and schedule for the November 16, 2024 Ondo State governorship election have already been successfully completed.

In addition to the progress made in preparation for the Ondo election, the INEC Chairman announced that the collection of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) for newly registered voters in Ondo State began on October 17, 2024 and will continue at Ward levels until October 21, 2024. After this period, the collection will AFTER be moved to the INEC’s Local Government Area offices in the State from October 23 to October 29, 2024.

On Party Agents for the election, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu expressed satisfaction with the compliance of the political parties, confirming that all 24,148 polling and collation Agents for the Ondo State election have been duly uploaded to the Commission’s portal.
