BREAKING: Kaduna Senator Mocks Shehu Sani, Hunkuyi, Others For Defecting To APC

Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State for allegedly renting a crowd for their rally, declaring the ruling party’s antics a ‘Papalolo comedy’......CONTINUE READING THE ARTICLE FROM THE SOURCE>>>>>

Recall that Papalolo is the stage name of Ayo Ogunsina, a renowned Nigerian comedian, who alongside Tajudeen Gbadamosi (aka Jacob) and Kayode Olaiya (aka Aderupoko) formed the Jesters International theatre group, which entertained Nigerians on national and state television networks in the 1980s.

Usman, who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), shared this on his Facebook post sighted by our correspondent on Sunday, in his reaction to the rally organised by the ruling APC to receive some defectors at the Murtala Square, Kaduna.

The Kaduna Central Senator lambasted the APC, challenging the ruling party to conduct a successful election in at least one ward within the state to test its popularity.

The lawmaker popularly called Senator LA, deplored the APC for deceiving Nigerians by allegedly assembling a rented crowd for the so-called rally.

Senator Usman’s post reads, “APC is like Papalolo in Kaduna State. If you truly knew you had the support of your ‘rented crowd’, why didn’t you allow the conduct of election in at least one ward within the state? Even the governor could not cast his vote at his polling station during that time.”

THE WHISTLER reports that Governor Uba Sani, who also attended the rally and received some defectors, assured the new party members of equal rights and privileges.

However, the lawmaker described the defectors as “political liabilities and hangers-on” who can’t win even their polling units during an election.

The PDP lawmaker expressed pity for Governor Uba Sani for priding himself and the ruling APC on welcoming some politicians whom he described as “spent forces and empty shells,” who would not be able to make any meaningful impact on the state’s political turf when the chips are down during the next round of elections in Kaduna.

“It’s a pity the Kaduna governor is welcoming empty shells who can’t even win their polling units during any election,” Senator LA said.

Recall that lately the APC in Kaduna has been in turmoil following an outburst by the immediate past governor, Nasir El-Rufai, who lambasted his successor, Governor Uba Sani for defending President Bola Tinubu over the alleged receipt of N150 billion from the Federal Government.

El-Rufai, at a gathering of prominent opposition leaders, criticised President Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of striving to weaken opposition parties and constituting a threat to Nigeria’s democratic system.

The immediate past Kaduna governor, who is also a founding member of the ruling APC, criticised the party’s governance style, describing it as a “national emergency.”

El-Rufai called for a coalition of opposition parties to upstage Tinubu and the ruling APC in 2027.
