Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has issued a stern warning to contractors involved in the 5-kilometer road projects across several local government areas, giving them a 7-day ultimatum to return to the site or risk losing their contracts.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Governor Yusuf delivered this directive during his inspection of the 5-kilometer road project in Ghari Local Government Area, formerly known as Kunchi, on Friday.
He emphasized the government’s resolve to ensure the completion of these vital infrastructure projects.
“The contractors have been given seven days to resume work on the five-kilometer road projects in all the local governments, or they will be replaced,” he stated.
Yusuf revealed that some contractors have already lost their contracts due to their failure to complete the projects.
“We have seized the projects from contractors in some local governments who failed to meet their obligations,” he said.
He added that the new contractors hired to replace them have successfully completed the tasks.
Expressing his disappointment, Governor Yusuf criticized the previous administration under Abdullahi Ganduje for neglecting the road projects, which were initiated during the tenure of Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso in 2013.
During the visit, the governor also commissioned a new road project in Garin Yan Dadi and inspected ongoing developments at the College of Education in Ghari Local Government Area.
He noted that the school, previously closed, has now been reopened to provide quality education for the people of Ghari.
The caretaker chairman of Ghari Local Government, Sagir Lawan, also commended the state government’s efforts, stating, “We are grateful for the developmental projects being executed in our local government and across Kano State.”
