BREAKING: Kano Hunger Protesters Fly Russian Flags; Ask Putin to Wade into Nigerian Crisis

Another twist was added to the ongoing nationwide protests against alleged bad governance in Nigeria on Saturday as protesters in Kano flew Russian flags. It was not immediately known what the mission of the flags bearing protesters were. The protests against hunger and worsening economy entered its third day on Saturday.

Organisers said it would last fro 10 days.

Solicitor to the organisers, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa however on Friday issued a statement calling for an end to the protests nationwide.

The flying of Russian flags with banners carrying the images of Putin added another dimension.

Analysts believe this might cause a diplomatic row between the two countries.

The development was just as protesters defied security agencies on Saturday to continue with their protests.

Kano is one of the states where the protests have turned violent.

Stores, homes have been looted while protesters made an incursion into the Government House on Friday.

The government had imposed a 24 hour curfew.

The protesters have defied the curfews.
