It follows the imposition of a dusk-to-dawn curfew by the Kano state government on Thursday to enable the security agents to quell the widespread violence and looting that rocked the state.

Similarly, in Borno State, the Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with other relevant security agencies, announced the imposition of a 24-hour curfew across the state following the detonation of an improvised explosive device in Kawori, which led to the death of 19 people, leaving others critically injured.

The police said they were acting on the governor’s directive, Babagana Zulum, and that the decision was taken to prevent further unrest and maintain public order in the state.
