The philanthropist and Sarkin Aikin Katsina was bestowed with the title of Talban Damagaram at the Sultan of Damagaram’s Palace, drawing notable personalities from Nigeria and neighboring countries.
Earlier, Governor Radda and his delegation, including key officials from Katsina State, were hosted to a dinner by Colonel Yousuf Labo, the military governor of Zinder.
The Katsina delegation included the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri; the Chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Kabir Bature; the Chairman of SDY, Sani Dahiru Yakasai; the Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; Alhaji Muntaka Badru Chairman Hillside Royal Suite, the Sarkin Kuraye, Alhaji Usman Dardau Kuraye and Sarkin Arewan Daura, Alh. Mansur Ahmed Aliyu.
The Sultan of Damagaram, chairing the council of chiefs, emphasized the historic nature of the dual ceremony and prayed for strengthened relations between Nigeria and Niger Republic.
Former Katsina State Governor, Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, in his vote of thanks, called for continued prayers for peace and urged the governors of both regions to collaborate for mutual benefit.
In a gesture symbolizing the importance of their visit and honouring the strong ties between the two regions, both Governor Radda and former Governor Shema were each presented with a plaque.
This presentation not only marked their presence at this significant event but also symbolized the enduring relationship between Katsina State and the Zinder region.
