Speaking on Friday in Abuja during the official launch of The Progressive Institute (TPI), the intellectual arm of the APC, Kukah expressed concern over the widespread hunger among the populace.

The event was attended by prominent APC figures, including national chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Senate President Godswill Akpabio (represented by Deputy Barau Jibrin), Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as well as various ministers and APC state chairmen.

“A girl was asked, which party are you? APC, LP or PDP? She said ‘I am hungry,’ so we Nigerians are hungry. You have to find a way of reducing this price of fuel,” Kukah said.

He further emphasized the importance of addressing democratic challenges in Nigeria, stating, “Unless democracy is anchored on sound foundation, we will be building on sand. I am concerned about the quality of democracy in Nigeria. We need to fix the problem with democracy in Nigeria.”
