It’s fair to say SoloLecce are out there in front with this, but then they were when reporting the initial meeting between Manchester United and Lecce.

Corriere dello Sport’s Tuesday edition reports there was new contact on Monday to get closer to the €40m Lecce want.

Those bonuses are said to be much easier to achieve than what was initially proposed by Manchester United, so will be seen as genuine additional income fo the Serie A side.

Meanwhile, Fabio Lucioni, a former Lecce captain, is quoted by CalcioLecce as saying: “I would have already bought him a plane ticket. I say this in a positive sense, because he is a boy who has made an important journey in the youth sector and has shown that he can compete in a higher level of football than the one you experience in Lecce. So it is right that he goes.”
