Umar Iliya Damagum, and National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, the PDP clarified its position. The letter indicates that the party did not authorize the filing of the said Notice of Discontinuance, which was submitted by one Femi Ebaba Esq., reportedly on the instruction of A.K. The PDP emphasized that it is fully prepared to continue with the appeal and expressed its concern over the unauthorized filing. The party urged the Justices of the Court of Appeal to take note that it remains committed to prosecuting the appeal to its conclusion.

The hearing for this appeal is scheduled for Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division.
