A viral video captured a mob vandalizing an MTN office in FESTAC Town, Lagos, as frustrated customers reacted to the service disruptions. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had previously directed all mobile network operators to restore disconnected users, and reports indicate that MTN, among others, is beginning to comply with this directive.
In addition to the unrest in Lagos, similar incidents were reported at MTN locations in other states, where angry customers protested the sudden blocking of their SIM cards.
