According to sources, committee members gave assurances on Thursday that a figure may be announced on Friday, signaling a potential breakthrough in the negotiations. The organized labor had suspended their industrial action for one week to enable the committee to finalize their negotiation and come up with a figure, which would be sent to the National Assembly for approval.

The meeting is a crucial step towards resolving the minimum wage dispute, which has been ongoing for several months. The labor unions have been demanding a new minimum wage of N30,000, while the government has offered N24,000.
