BREAKING NEWS: 2027 Will Be Difficult For PDP If Discipline Is Not Enforced – Jandor

Dr. Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Lagos State’s last election, has issued a stern warning that the party’s prospects in 2027 could be jeopardized if disciplinary measures are not enforced. Addressing attendees at a conference organized by the Victory Advocates of Nigeria (VAN) in Abuja, Jandor expressed concern over the continued prominence of individuals within the party who actively opposed its interests during the 2023 elections. Jandor emphasized the need for the party to uphold its constitution and ensure that no individual is above its provisions. He also highlighted the importance of enforcing discipline within the party ranks to alter outsiders’ negative perceptions.

He stated, “Reconciliation without boundary enforcement would not work. The party has a constitution, and no one should be bigger than it. We must change the optics of how the party is viewed.”

Concerned about the credibility of the party’s leadership, especially in states like Lagos, Jandor stressed the difficulty of garnering support for the PDP when individuals who openly opposed the party’s interests are still regarded as its leaders.

He emphasized the significance of local dynamics in politics but insisted on the need for accountability and genuine reconciliation, stating, “Who will take such a person seriously? Politics is local, but you must look at it and ask how you can belong to a party when those who worked against it remain unapologetic.”

Echoing Jandor’s sentiments, Prince Seyi Ajibola, the National President of VAN, emphasized the imperative for youth involvement in the party’s affairs. He called upon PDP leaders to prioritize youth inclusiveness and enforce discipline within the party ranks to enhance the party’s chances of success in the 2027 elections.

As the party braces for crucial decisions at the upcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, stakeholders are urged to heed Jandor’s warning and take proactive steps to instil discipline and foster unity within the PDP.
