The Senator representing Niger East in the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani Musa, has distributed over 4,050 bags of assorted fertilisers free of charge to farmers in his constituency. Represented by the Deputy Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, Mrs Afinike Eunice Dauda, the senator explained that each local council would get 450 bags, consisting of Urea and NPK.
On his part, Political Adviser to Governor Umaru Bago, Mohammed Nma Kolo, stated that the gesture was in fulfillment of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign promises to the electorate, assuring more dividends of democracy to the people.
He urged other elected officials and political office holders to emulate, unite and synergise to achieve land mark development.
Kolo had reiterated the commitment of Senator Musa in ensuring that peace and stability return to his constituency, especially the three most affected local councils of Shiroro, Munya and Rafi.
Speaking on behalf of other council chairmen from the zone, Rafi council chairman, Ayuba Usman Katako, appreciated the gesture and assured the federal lawmaker of their support and fair distribution of the fertilisers.
The assorted product consists of 3,050 NPK, and 1,000 UREA.
The benefiting local councils include Bosso, Chanchaga, Gurara, Rafi, Munya, Shiroro, Suleja, Tafa and Paikoro.
