Some gunmen have abducted Pastor Adewumi of the First ECWA Church and a computer engineer Adeyemi from their homes in Olla, Kwara State over the weekend.

According to Mrs Yusuf Adekunle, a resident of the community, the incident occurred at 8:30pm.
“They stormed the home of Pastor Adewumi with guns and abducted him,” a witness told Daily Trust.
“While they were taking him along, they enquired who the owner of a car parked at a distance was and he replied that it was for his neighbour, Engr Adeyemi,” she said.

“They then led him with guns and told him to knock on his door that he (Adewumi) wanted to see him. They swooped on him after he obliged and bundled the two of them away.”

At the time of reporting, the kidnappers had not yet made contact with the victims’ families. The police spokeswoman, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, said she would find out more and respond.

Two residents, Mr Suraj Adeyemi and Mrs Funmilayo Adeoti, expressed serious concern over the increasing activities of gunmen and called on the government to intervene and ensure their safety.
