According to NNPC, CNG stations are now available at Gaduwa, Wuse, Gudu, Dei Dei, Ushafa, and Gwagwalada in Abuja, with plans to extend to other locations nationwide.
The company, in a recent post on social media, encouraged Nigerians to switch to CNG, highlighting its benefits, including reduced maintenance expenses, cleaner emissions, and improved safety features.
According to NNPC Retail, the downstream arm of NNPC Limited, CNG prevents fuel loss, keeps lubricant oils cleaner, and has a high auto-ignition temperature, making it less prone to ignite on hot surfaces.
It should be noted that CNG is sold at approximately N200 per standard cubic foot for cars, taxis, and tricycles, and N260 per standard cubic meter (SCM) for heavy commercial vehicles.
The development follows the recent increase in the price of petrol across the country.
