In a statement by his aide, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke criticised Ganduje’s pledge to take over Osun in 2026 following the APC’s win in Ondo’s governorship election.
He described the remarks as anti-democratic and warned they could destabilise the South West’s unity behind Tinubu.
“Electoral outcomes are shaped by local dynamics, not external pressures,” Adeleke said, citing Ganduje’s failure to maintain control in Kano despite eight years in office.
He argued that Osun’s people value political freedom and would resist any attempts to subvert their will. “If Ganduje truly supports the president, why is he stoking tensions and threatening electoral violations?” Adeleke asked.
He urged Ganduje to respect Osun’s unique political realities, warning that strategies effective elsewhere would not succeed in the state.
