Nigerian comedian, Aderombi Adedayo Martin, known as Deeone, has defended media personality and host of the Honest Bunch Podcast, Chinedu Ani, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, following his decision to quit the show amid serious allegations by social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, otherwise known as Verydarkman......CONTINUE READING THE ARTICLE FROM THE SOURCE>>>>>
Deeone recently appeared on the podcast, where he accused Verydarkman of sexual involvement with men. In response, Verydarkman accused Nedu of deliberately inviting Deeone to the show to attack his personality.
But in a video shared on his verified Instagram page, Deeone clarified that he is responsible for statements he made on the podcast and urged for public support for Nedu, whom he claimed is going through a difficult time.
Deeone said, “Nedu told me nothing. I take responsibility for all I said. Nedu is currently going through a lot. Please come out to defend him. Vdm is manipulating everybody. Nedu is innocent! Nothing must happen to Nedu.”
After Deeone’s appearance on the podcast, VeryDarkMan threatened to release a list of women Nedu allegedly slept with in exchange for appearance on the show.
“I will release a list of women you told me you slept with to feature them on ‘Honest Bunch podcast’
“I am a street boy, ghetto boy, I can’t take anybody to court, I have mouth to defend myself.
“Nedu wanted me to come to his podcast but I didn’t respond. When we met in Abuja, Nedu told me if I came to his podcast, he would buy me a car.”
Amid the allegation, Nedu announced his departure from the podcast and cited the need to protect his peace of mind, family, and the integrity of the show.
In a personal statement on Friday, the media personality expressed gratitude for the journey with The Honest Bunch Podcast.
He wrote, “The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics.
“But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll.
“In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself.
“I have always been committed to honest conversations, but when those conversations lead to relentless attacks and misrepresentation, it becomes clear that stepping back is the best path forward.
“I sincerely hope this decision brings an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue thriving. I remain committed to fostering dialogue in ways that encourage meaningful engagement and growth, and I look forward to new opportunities that align with that vision.
“I wish the show continued success and thank everyone who has supported me throughout this journey.”
The Honest Bunch Podcast, started by Glitch Africa in 2022, is a talk show featuring four main hosts: Nedu, Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne.
