Ayodele who disclosed this in an interview on Sunday, July 28, 2024, also stated that Nigerians must be purged of the spirit of Emilokan for there to be peace, stability and development in the country.
He advised the government on what to do to assuage the temper of Nigerians. “What you need to do is crash the prices of foodstuffs immediately, don’t waste time, crash the price of petrol that is two, provide electricity 24/7, at the same time, all these infrastructure, you are going to create employment, the employment is not going to be realistic. Why can’t you bring more food, rice, garry, beans, indomie and all what not, bring them down and the price of petrol, it is not much.”
He spoke further that he warned the government long ago that there would be protest if they continued the way they are going. “I have warned the government since September 2023, to be precise, that the way they are going there will be protest, don’t take this protest for granted.”
He maintained that Nigerians are angry and therefore nobody should call it an Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa engineered protest. “I don’t see this protest being from Igbo or Hausa or Yoruba, everybody is angry, I have what it takes, simple formula that will settle these troubles, and this government does not believe in God, they believe in their own ideology.”
He castigated those calling for Oro saying that they are thinking below expectation. He added that mixing Oro with the protest will cause anarchy “Bringing Oro into the protest is tantamount to anarchy. Oro is not the answer, it will bring destruction.
“Those thinking about Oro are thinking below expectation. Consulting with traditional rulers will not give you the answer, because traditional rulers, they don’t have ideas. It is mere waste of money, there are people of large mind, people that are think tanks, people that are fast thinkers; they ask God what is God saying about this? Don’t cause this protest to be a bloodbath, this protest will reduce your government, and with this protest the enemy will penetrate,” Primate Ayodele added.
Speaking about Emilokan he said “Then if you begin to allow these things to go out of proportion it will turn to something else, meanwhile even, people that are close to you, some of your relatives will join the protest, the land is angry, the founders of this great country are angry, and this protest is part of emilokan thing, if they don’t have solution to it, even the local government autonomy will still have issues.
“Underline this emilokan of a thing, it goes far, beyond pronouncement, serious, Nigeria is sitting on time bomb.
If there is no cleaning for emilokan, Nigeria will suffer,” Primate Ayodele stated.
He also added that the upcoming protest will not be the last protest. “This is not the end of protest, what will happen government has not seen ahead of time. They believe it is simple; the social media is not simple. It is just moments ahead of the nation. I am telling you. In terms of security, they are not talking about it.
He also spoke on the new minimum wage. “The implementation of wages, this is still an issue, some states will not be able to do it, they have a lot at hand.
